THREE (NON-TOXIC) PRODUCTS FOR PERFECT BEACH BEAUTY

June 13, 2016

Beach days are the best days. Yet, its important to balance getting your Vitamin D with protection. I always bring a beach umbrella, sunglasses, and a hat or visor when I visit the beach. I still want to get a little glow and do like soaking up some sun in limited quantities. When I do, these are my go-to products. Apply the bronzer pre-beach to give yourself a little color and help resist the urge to tan under the sun. Next, apply a broad spectrum SPF to protect your skin from UVA and UVB rays. Finally, a quick spray of heat protector on your ends (or entire head if you have color treated or bleached hair) will keep your locks sealed and vibrant.

BROAD SPECTRUM BODY SPF 30, Suntegrity #physicalblocker #nonchemical

HEAT PROTECT OIL SERUM, Shea Moisture #parabenfree #natural (gifted)

Introducing Gloss Beauty Lab & my Clean Beauty Kits

December 11, 2015

I am beyond thrilled to finally share something that I have been working on for the past few months (and just in time for the holidays!)... my Clean Beauty Kits! Being an non-toxic beauty ambassador, I wanted to pull together the best of the best in natural beauty and offer it at an approachable price to help introduce others to clean beauty as well as highlight new and noteworthy products. Voila! Gloss Beauty Lab was born! The products are all vetted to be amazing, pure and perform. The real magic lies in how they are curated together in my themed kits.

To start there are three kits:

DESERT ISLAND- five essential products you want no matter where you are stranded

CITY SLICKER- five products to help get your glamour on and combat dull 'city skin'

JET-SET- for those flying high, five products to help keep you moisturized and feeling fresh

Each kit goes for $49 and includes five products with varying sizes: sample, super sample, travel and full size products. I like to think of the kits as beauty boosters for your existing routine. They also make perfect gifts! The best part is, when you fall in love with the products inside (we know you will) you can head over to GlossBeautyLab.com and order the full size products a la carte. Or opt for another kit to get your through your travels.

This is just the beginning and I can't wait to roll out more curated kits to come! For now, I hope you enjoy the three starter kits. They make great gifts and I have them pre-wrapped and ready to go to your nearest and dearest. Go ahead, and get glossy, I know you want to! xx

Yummy Healthy Veggie Dip for your Holiday Party

December 9, 2015

Last night was my Gloss Holiday Party and I whipped up an assortment of tasty snacks including my signature Tahini and Chive Veggie Dip. I'd had requests to share the recipe before, but honestly I shoot from the hip every time I make it so I've never had a recipe to hand out. This time I wrote it all down directly afterwards (including after any taste adjustments) and am happy to share it with you now.

It is a great addition to the cheese plates and dessert trays, and gives those trying to stay healthy through the holiday season a nice option to nosh on. Here's what you will need:

Shopping List

2 heaping tablespoons tahini

3 heaping tablespoons vegan cream cheese (I like Tofuti)

2 tablespoons olive oil

juice of one half of a lemon, freshly squeezed

3 teaspoons ume boshi plum paste (find this in the oriental section next to the seaweed)

1 pack of chives, chopped (reserve a few whole sprigs for garnish)

carrots, celery, cucumber, radishes, etc chopped in strips easy for dipping

Mix all the ingredients (save the carrots, celery, cucumber, radishes, etc for dipping) into a food processor and blend thoroughly, adding more olive oil or cream cheese until you reach your desired thickness. Transfer to a serving bowl and place alongside the chopped veggies to enjoy.

Strong, Simple Yoga Beauty with Sara Clark

August 16, 2015

I'm thrilled to be working a bit more with Yoga Today, the amazing online platform that hosts full yoga class videos lead by some of the world's best instructors. They recently launched an active blog where yoga instructors, enthusiasts and experts contribute valued 'yoga life' content. Think Mind Body Green for yogis. Throughout the summer, I've had the privilege of working on some of this blog content by enhancing the natural beauty of their visiting instructors for contributor profile pics.

New York City resident and visiting yogi, Sara Clark graced us with her calm and positive presence, and turned out to be a real cover girl! Her strength from within shined through and was captured by Lindsay Linton. Working with Sara was a real treat and her rich skin tone proved an amazing canvas for shimmer and highlights to accentuate her natural features.  I literally used a tinted moisturizer to even skin where needed, swept a metallic highlighter across her eyelids and cheek bones, applied a bright pink blush to her cheeks and lips (over a touch of gloss) and groomed her eyebrows. Natural beauty at its best! To get Sara's easy breezy (I sense a Cover Girl commercial in her future!) look, shop the non-toxic beauty products below. xx
