Eenvoud & Ai Weiwei

May 13, 2015

If you've been following along on the blog or my Instagram you've seen that I had the most amazing past month traveling to all my favorite places- Tokyo, London, Paris and New York! I ate decadent meals, stood in awe of wondrous pieces of art, toured historical landmarks, and saw a number of near and dear friends. You know it has been a good trip when you feel fully satiated on food, culture and company, and all you crave is your home sweet home.  And to my surprise, I came home to a traveling Ai Weiwei exhibit housed at the National Wildlife Museum in Jackson Hole for the summer! I visited the exhibit of the Zodiac Heads on opening day, May 9th, and snapped a few pictures to share. If you are passing through Jackson this summer, you MUST stop to see the twelve bronze heads juxtaposed with the Wyoming landscape as their backdrop. It is stunning.

I also came home to a lovely package from Eenvoud! Eenvoud is a new line created by a former fit model in New York City, who felt that fast fashion gave us too many options when getting dressed and had a negative effect on how we put together outfits and curate our closets. So, she decided to start her own label and consciously create pieces that compliment one another and are very versatile. The fabrics look and feel expensive, but are durable enough to wash at home. I've styled her signature dress in the images below and can already tell it is a summer staple!

Many thanks to Eevoud for sponsoring this post, and to Sarah Grigg for taking the photos.

Stow your structured totes and give an easy going backpack a whirl this summer. The slouchy rucksack shape has definitely come back into vogue, and now you have your choice of stripes, colors and textures oh my! Here are some eco-friendly faves to whet your appetite:

1. THE DAVEY, Krochet Kids, $59.95. Perfect for all your weekend trips that await you this summer. Get ahold of ‘the Davey’ stuff it with all your other favorite KKi products and hit the road! Ethically made with cooperatives in developing countries.

2. KAMARIA BAG BLACK FEATHERS, Lalesso, $290. A bucket bag design crafted from suede leather, printed silk cotton, and includes a rope shoulder strap. Ethically made in Kenya.

3. RAFIA CROCHET BACKPACK, Bop Basics, $115. Braided raffia puts a summer-ready spin on a slouchy backpack with twisted rope straps. Frayed ends leave a nautical impression, and the drawstring top opens to a lined interior with a single pocket. Made from natural fibers.

4. BLACK MULTI CARTAGENA MOCHILA BAG, Miss Mochila, $325. This Black Multi Cartagena Mochila Bag from Colombia-based designer Miss Mochila is a staple in any jetsetter’s accessories rotation. Handwoven by the Wayuu tribe in South America, its color-pop hues instantly brighten your standard T-shirt and jeans ensemble.

5. CHEYENNE BUCKET TOTE, Shannon South, $380. This tote bag is a patchwork of rugged yet soft, beautiful nubuck leather with raw suede on the inside. Made in NYC from remnant luxury leather from furniture production.
